Heliconia vellerigera hyb. 'Queen Bee'

  • 'Queen Bee' is the rarest Heliconia in our collection and one of the last Heliconia varieties collected and named by the late Mark Collins. Believed to be a vellerigera hybrid, 'Queen Bee' has red bracts, golden margins, along with pubescent yellow sepals. With only a few rhizomes available for sale you can be one of the first to have this unusual new Heliconia in your collection. 

    Inflorescence: Pendent and spiral
    Height: 10 to 16 ft
    Light: Full sun to partial shade
    Growth: Clumping
