'Red Carpet' is one of the last Heliconia varieties collected and named by the late Mark Collins. Believed to be a vellerigera hybrid, 'Red Carpet' has red bracts, orange-red hairs along the rachis, and pubescent yellow sepals. Strikingly, newly opened bracts are white then turn red with maturity. With only a few rhizomes available for sale you can be one of the first to have this unusual new Heliconia in your collection.
